Carolyn's Graduation...with Oprah!

So the whole family headed to North Carolina to celebrate Carolyn's graduation from Duke. John and I were able to go out a few days early and spend some time with Carolyn, Lanny, and Carolyn's belly...I mean Baby Cate. It was SO exciting to see my sister pregnant! She looks adorable!
It was fun to get to spend time with Brian and Rosie too, especially since we won't get to see them as often once we move.

Here are some other pics from the fun weekend. Congratulations Carolyn!!

I love this picture! I didn't even notice the sunset until after I took the picture.

Yep, that's Oprah. Her Godson (Gail's son) was graduating that day so she spoke. Unfortunately she wasn't that good but the student elected speaker was much better.

Congratulations Carolina!! We love you!

Daffodil Gala and Sketchy Old Men...

After Kristen and Brady's wedding John and I drove to Hot Springs to attend the Daffodil Gala for the American Cancer Society. Mom was the chair of the event this year and she did an amazing job. It was held at the Fair Ground and they had covered the place in twinkle lights. We had a blast dancing and catching up with everyone. John even managed to somehow win an entire box of Boone's Farm. That's my husband!
In fact, the party didn't end when the Gala did. I'm sad to say that John, Mom, Kim, Anna, Jen, Judy, and I went to one of the really "classy" bars that Hot Springs has to offer. It was absolutely disgusting but the entertainment factor was priceless! There is nothing like seeing a 78 year old man dancing with 20-something age girls!

Nutt-Brandon Wedding...

On May 2 my beautiful friend Kristen Nutt married her boyfriend of 7 years! The weekend started with the most awesome bachelorette party ever! We all dressed in 80's awesomeness and then went karaoking. I was channeling Molly Ringwald, while Kim (center) rocked out an amazing bridesmaid dress with stuffed poof sleeves.

The wedding was planned to be on the back lawn at Kristen's parent's house. Unfortunately the weather wasn't so cooperative and the wedding had to be held inside the house. Despite the weather the wedding was beautiful and Kristen and Brady became Mr and Mrs Brandon. Congratulations you guys!

How many things can we squeeze into a month...

Wow! What a busy month it has been! A wedding, the Daffodil Gala, a trip to North Carolina for Carolyn's Graduation, Julie's Graduation, and a delayed honeymoon. And more to come...moving to St. Louis this weekend and John's graduation next week! Hopefully soon I will find my camera and (some time!) to post all about this fun stuff!

Puppies...

I warned you we would post lots about the doggies. But yesterday we got some sad news. Charlie girl has heart worms. She will start treatment tomorrow and get one shot once a month for three months. The hard part is that she can't elevate her heart rate during these three months so no more running to the deer woods for her. Poor girl!

And since we're on the topic of puppies, here are a few more cute pictures.

Sammy girl ...look at that smile!

Our yin/yang girls in their kennel

Every dog should be a lap dog

Annie - mom and dad's new dog. Someone left her in their driveway with a package of puppy pads! She is such a cutie and fits right in. She always has one ear perked and one relaxed.

Annie and Sammy have become the best of buds. They wrestle and play for hours! Sammy will let her crawl all over her and hang from her ears...but she wasn't a fan of the tail pull.

Yard sale from hell...

Over the past few years John and I have accumulated enough stuff to furnish two complete apartments. And after all the wedding gifts we could now do a third. So we decided to have a yard sale to clean out the old. I don't think John had any idea how much work a yard sale can be but he was a trooper. True to the procrastinating genes I have most of the work was accomplished between midnight and 7am the day of.

The weather was perfect and the shoppers kept coming. And after counting up all the quaters and dimes we were pretty thrilled with the final take.

St. Louis here we come...

Well, as most of you know we matched for residency in St. Louis, MO. John will be at Wash-U for internal medicine and I will be at SLU St. Mary's Hospital for OB/GYN. We are SO excited for this and feel extremely lucky to be headed to such great programs. Since we matched we have been busy buying our first house (yikes!), having a huge garage sale, and packing up our left over belongings.

Here's the new house! We close May 27

There is a great deck off the back that wraps around one side of the house.

The kitchen was completely remodeled in 2008.

May is going to be a busy month with my friend Kristen's wedding, a trip to North Carolina to see my pregnant sis (can't wait to see the belly!!) graduate, my graduation from med school, a baby shower for Carolina, Lanny, and Baby Cate, our honeymoon to the Dominican Republic (stay away swine flu!), and then our big move to St. Louis. Stay tuned!

In the beginning...

We decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon! We will probably be horrible about keeping it up and talk only about our puppies but here goes!
